  • Publication number: 20190327227
Abstract: Systems and methods for obtaining access to a session with a remote cloud service server. The methods comprising: receiving, by a first client computing device, a user unique identifier from a mobile device located in proximity to the first client computing device; and performing facial recognition operations by the first client computing device subsequent to the reception of the user unique identifier. The facial recognition operations comprise: capturing an image of the mobile device's user; and analyzing the image to obtain a user name associated with the facial features represented therein. A determination is made as to whether the user name matches the user unique identifier. If so, a first session with the remote cloud service server is automatically launched.

  • Patent number: 10152194
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for transmitting data from a host computing device to a client computing device. This data may include graphical data, which may require additional processing by a renderer, such as a graphical processing unit (GPU), prior to being transmitted. Upon being forwarded to a specialized hardware component that, for example, may combine a GPU with a controller and one or more network interfaces, the graphical data may be rendered, packetized and transmitted without being provided to a system memory of the host computing device or otherwise involving the host computing device. Data packets including rendered graphical data may be generated by a second processor, different from the host processor of the host computing device.

  • Publication number: 20170356307
Abstract: An assembly for hot forming a component includes first and second location features reversibly attached to a sheet metal element that forms the component. The assembly is loaded into a high temperature forming rig by loosely locating the location features into corresponding datum features in a forming tool. As the assembly heats up, the location features locate accurately with the datum features. Thus, the assembly can be accurately located onto the tool accurately and with minimal opening of the hot forming rig, thereby improving efficiency and safety.

  • Patent number: 9650272
Abstract: There is provided a safe, natural, environmentally sound means of controlling bacterial contamination, corrosion, and souring of oil and gas wells and reservoirs that result from bacteria-contaminated water in a well. In one aspect it is a process for remediation of souring of petroleum reservoirs and coalbeds by adding to the water used in flooding and “fracing” operations an effective amount of virulent (non-lysogenic) bacteriophages (phages) specific for problematic target bacteria. The invention also provides a means for combating loss of effectiveness of bacterial control by staging bacteriophage production and application to control dominant and sub-dominant target bacteria in a community of target bacteria.

  • Patent number: 9638672
Abstract: The present invention provides for systems and methods for acquiring acoustic information from a resonating body. Specifically, a focused light beam is emitted from an emitter module onto an impedance matching reflector. The impedance matching reflector has similar wave propagation characteristics to the resonating body, so as to capture mechanical vibrations thereof. The impedance matching reflector reflects the focused light beam as it vibrates, and the vibrations are captured by a receiver module through the reflected light beam, which is converted to an input signal. The input signal may be further processed and converted to an audio output signal, as an accurate representation of the acoustic information emanating from within the resonating body.

  • Patent number: 9429275
Abstract: A hydraulic system for a hybrid module which is located between an engine and a transmission includes a parallel arrangement of a mechanical pump and an electric pump. Each pump is constructed and arranged to deliver oil to other portions of the hydraulic system depending on the operational mode. Three operational modes are described including an electric mode, a transition mode, and a cruise mode. Included is a lube splitter valve which prioritizes the delivery of oil between downstream components and the motor (eMachine). The motor temperature is monitored and an elevated motor temperature provides an indication of a clogged oil filter.

  • Publication number: 20150317579
Abstract: A computer executable method for producing a feedback metric for use in Project Portfolio Management (“PPM”). The method includes collecting data about a plurality of project proposals and collecting data about a plurality of completed projects, such that some of the data about proposals and completed projects pertain to the same project. The collected data is then used to estimate the parameters of a model by using a maximum likelihood technique, executed as an algorithm in the computer, that overcomes a Missing Data Problem (“MDP”). The method uses the estimated parameters generated by the algorithm to create feedback metrics for use in PPM and that are output from the computer.
