  • Publication number: 20230267604
Abstract: A computer system that analyzes medical-imaging data to assess a risk for prostate cancer is described. The computer system may compute features (including intensity, texture and/or spatial features) based at least in part on the medical-imaging data. Then, using a pretrained predictive model, the computer system may determine cancer predictions on a voxel-by-voxel basis, based at least in part on the computed features. Note that the pretrained predictive model may include a boosted parallel random forests (BPRF) model with a boosted ensemble of bagging ensemble models, where a given bagging ensemble model includes an ensemble of random forests models. Next, the computer system may provide feedback based on the cancer predictions for the voxels. For a given voxel, the feedback may include a cancer prediction and a location. In some embodiments, for the given voxel, the feedback may include an aggressiveness of the predicted cancer and/or a recommended therapy.

  • Patent number: 11482880
Abstract: A supplemental power source connectable to a standard railroad track switch power source. A pair of electrical connectors (A) form a supplemental power source circuit input. Another pair of electrical connectors (B) form a supplemental power source output and are configured for connection to a standard railroad track switch. An electrical conductor connects a first one of the supplemental power source output connectors (B) to a first one of the supplemental power source input connectors (A). A diode is connected between a second one of the supplemental power source input connectors (A) and a second one of the supplemental power source output connectors (B). The diode is connected to prevent current flow to the standard railroad track switch power source. Abstract: A fully automated, sensor driven catch system for a livestock squeeze chute includes an elongated sensor support member mounted on the upper end of the squeeze chute which has first, second, third and fourth sensors mounted thereof. A fifth sensor is built into one of the head gate hydraulic cylinders. A sixth sensor is built into the hydraulic cylinder for controlling the side squeeze panels of the chute. A seventh sensor is built into one of the hydraulic cylinders for controlling the tail gate hydraulic cylinders. The sensors are connected to a control module which is connected to a hydraulic valve module. The sensors send signals to the control module which controls the hydraulic cylinder of the tail gate assembly, the side squeeze panels and the head gate assembly. The sensors sense the movement of the animal as it passes through the chute which in turn controls the hydraulic cylinders.

  • Publication number: 20190331820
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for measurement of pore pressure in rock formations through an open, or cemented and/or cased, borehole are described. Such measurements are achieved using the Dynamic Acoustic Elasticity (DAE) method for characterizing nonlinear parameters by perturbing a selected rock formation volume with a High Amplitude, Low Frequency (HALF) acoustic strain wave, and probing this volume using a Low Amplitude, High Frequency (LAHF) acoustic wave. Time reversal techniques may be employed for focusing acoustic energy Into the formation in the vicinity of the pipe or open hole.

  • Publication number: 20190250295
Abstract: Apparatus (10) and methods for measurement of pore pressure in rock formations through a metal borehole casing (32) after a well is cased and cemented, are described. Such measurements may be accomplished by using the Dynamic Acoustic Elasticity (DAE) method for characterizing nonlinear parameters by perturbing a selected rock formation region with a High Amplitude, Low Frequency (HALF) acoustic strain wave, and probing this region using a Low Amplitude, High Frequency (LAHF) acoustic wave (18), (22). Time reversal techniques (36) may be employed for focusing acoustic energy into the formation in the vicinity of the pipe or open hole. The change in wave speed of the probe pulses as the HALF induced strain wave oscillation propagates through the formation, as a function of the induced strain, may be used to determine the nonlinear elastic parameters ?, ?, ?, and A of the pore pressure, from which the pore pressure may be determined in the region of the HALF wave.
