  • Publication number: 20110031337
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for aligning a cutter spindle of a granulator, particularly an underwater granulator, relative to a cutting plate (4). As precise an alignment of the cutter spindle is of great significance here for continuous very high to optimal quality of the granulate. According to the invention, such can be achieved by the following steps. Rotationally driving the cutter spindle (14) by means of a drive motor, measuring a force acting on the cutter spindle (14), generating a corresponding signal, and adjusting the alignment and especially the angular alignment of the cutter spindle (14) relative to the cutting plate (4) as a function of the signal.

  • Publication number: 20070223441
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the concurrent operation of at least two wireless link paths. At least one first link path has a first digital transmission method and at least one second link path has a second digital transmission method. The carrier frequencies of these transmission methods lie in frequency bands that at least overlap. The transmission methods transmit, in defined frame and slot cycles, data in a sequence of frames subdivided into a plurality of slots. The frame and/or slot cycles of the transmission methods have different durations. The first transmission method is isochronous. The signal fields of the link paths overlap in such a manner that at the site of at least one receiver of a link path signals originating from two different transmission methods can be received. The slot events of the second transmission method are dynamically distributed to the slots available in the second transmission method depending on slot events of the first transmission method.

  • Patent number: 6481354
Abstract: A mortar fuse includes a fan wheel rotated in response to motion of the mortar fuse after the mortar has been launched. The fan wheel rotates a helix on which an activation wheel is mounted. The activation wheel moves in a path along the axis of the helix in response to rotation of the helix and eventually impacts against, and pierces, an acid container. Battery acid flows from the container and into battery cells, to energize the battery. The activation wheel includes a magnetic material. A coil is disposed along the path of travel of the activation wheel so that electric energy is generated in the coil as the magnetic activation wheel moves therepast. The electric energy operates a counter which controls a time function of the mortar fuse.

  • Patent number: 4710113
Abstract: An apparatus for granulating thermoplastics materials comprising a nozzle plate and a cutter device in which the spacing between these integers can be pre-set and accurately maintained. This is achieved by isolating the component parts of the granulation apparatus, particularly a housing for the cutter device, which is subjected to variable thermal expansion, from the components which locate the cutter device in front of the nozzle plate.

  • Patent number: 4484878
Abstract: A device for monitoring the filling level of the degassing space in an extruder used for processing thermoplastic materials comprises a level detection orifice located in the degassing dome or jacket of the extruder which opening is connected to a conduit. The conduit leads through a regulator device to a gas source. Connected to the conduit, between the regulator device and the orifice, is a pressure sensor such as a pressure difference switch. If the level of molten material in the dome rises above a preselected level, it blocks the opening and produces a back-pressure in the conduit. The switch is automatically actuated by this back-pressure and produces a signal. Appropriate action can then be taken to prevent the further rise of the molten material in the dome and to prevent blockage of the degassing device.

  • Patent number: 4410306
Abstract: A granulation apparatus in which a conical chamber having a downwardly and outwardly inclined wall is provided for collecting cut granules. The wall is covered with a flowing, circulating film of water, such film being of uniform thickness and circulating quickly. An annular water channel is provided around the cylindrical or conical chamber for collecting the granules, the annular channel being fed through a tangential water inlet. A flat, annular horizontal acceleration chamber is disposed in the upper region of the annular channel and communicates with the channel through an annular aperture formed in the upper radially outward region of the annular channel. At its radially inner periphery the acceleration chamber communicates with the chamber through an annular aperture. The disposition of the inlet, the channel and the acceleration chamber cause water flowing into the chamber to be subjected to centrifugal force whereby the film of water remains closely adjacent the wall and is of uniform thickness.
