Patent number: 12286315Abstract: A system performs a method of manufacturing a vehicle. The system includes a camera, a transport device, and a processor. The camera obtains an image of a part that is to be assembled to the vehicle. The transport device orients the part with respect to a surface and drops the part onto the surface. The processor creates a first model representing the part and a second model representing the surface from the image, places the first model at a selected drop orientation and a selected drop height with respect to the second model, simulates a drop of the first model onto the second model, and determines a change in a dimension of the first model resulting from the simulated drop. The part is dropped onto the surface at the selected drop orientation and the selected drop height when the change in the dimension of the first model meets a criterion.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2022Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Ziqiang Sheng, Anthony Vincent Tocco, Timothy J. Patent number: 12231467Abstract: A server system in communication with a plurality of machines that form a linear communication orbit establishes a direct duplex connection between the server system and a first endpoint machine. The server system enrolls the first endpoint machine as a satellite endpoint machine, which enables the satellite endpoint machine to execute one or more function modules. Typically, the server system authenticates, via the direct duplex connection, the first endpoint machine, and, after authenticating the first endpoint machine, sends, to the first endpoint machine, an instruction for executing a function module. The server system receives a report including information obtained by the first endpoint machine executing the function module. At least one of the establishing a direct duplex connection, sending the instruction, and receiving the report includes sending or receiving a communication between the first endpoint machine and the server system via the linear communication orbit.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2022Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: Tanium Inc.Inventors: Stephen C. Patent number: 12168418Abstract: A device, system, and method for an electronic response to a potential carjacking is provided. A device receives: a location and vehicle ignition status of a vehicle; and sensor data generated by one or more sensors that are onboard the vehicle, the sensor data different from the location and the vehicle ignition status. The device determines whether the location of the vehicle is associated with a carjacking type of location, and whether a combination of the vehicle ignition status and the sensor data meet a carjacking threshold condition. When both the location of the vehicle is associated with the carjacking type of location and the carjacking threshold condition is met, the device: outputs an alert at the vehicle indicative of, or associated with, the potential carjacking; and/or causes, a notification to be transmitted to a communication device associated with a public safety agency or a monitoring service.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2022Date of Patent: December 17, 2024Assignee: MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, INC.Inventors: Pietro Russo, Barbara R. Publication number: 20240202853Abstract: A system and method for generating a vehicular profile and vehicular profiling system are provided. A request for enrollment in the system is received at a processing device. Live captured images of the vehicle to-be-enrolled and previously recorded images of a base version of the vehicle are processed and compared to detect differences therebetween. The differences are characterized to identify unique identifiers of the vehicle. The vehicular profile is generated including the characterized unique identifiers along with a recoverability-likelihood score. The profile, including the recoverability-likelihood score, is communicated to a primary device associated with capturing the live captured images. The profile including the recoverability-likelihood score may be further communicated to a secondary device having access permissions to the system.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2022Publication date: June 20, 2024Inventors: BARBARA R.
