    Abstract: A cooking utensil includes a cooking bowl unit, a driving support unit, a lid unit, and a lid-opening device. The driving support unit outputs a power to the cooking bowl unit, and includes a bottom seat supporting the cooking bowl unit, and opposite first and second sidewalls disposed on the bottom seat . The lid unit includes a top lid disposed pivotally on a bowl body of the cooking bowl unit for covering a top end opening of the blow body, a pivoting block disposed fixedly on the top lid, a positioning block connected pivotally to the pivoting block and connected removably to the first sidewall, and a retaining block disposed on the top lid. The lid-opening device is disposed on the second sidewall, and includes a locking member locking the retaining block releaseably on the second sidewall, and a controlling member operable to release the retaining block from the second sidewall.

The first encoder disc is mounted co-rotatably on an outer sleeve sleeved rotatably on an inner spindle and coupled co-axially to a lower platter member that is driven by a driving unit to rotate about an axis. The second encoder disc is mounted co-rotatably on the inner spindle which is coupled co-axially to an upper platter member that is superposed on the lower platter member.

    Abstract: An electric frying pot includes an outer pot body and an inner pot. The outer pot body is provided with plural support members and a socket on its bottom base having a micro-switch fixed under to connect the socket. The socket has two notches and an inserting groove on top and a sliding cover inside, a ring electric-heating tube fixed at the bottom of the inner pot, having two thirds embedded therein and two pins protruding at two opposite ends, with an actuating rod longer then the pins fixed between. Thus, when the inner pot is placed in the outer pot body, the actuating rod pushes the sliding cover to move away to let the actuating rod and the pins respectively inserting in the inserting grooves and the notches, synchronously with the bottom of the inner pot pressing the lug of the micro-switch to turn on power.

    Abstract: A CD changing device including a bottom disc that is moved back and forth in a slide groove by a projecting gear, a turntable disposed on the bottom disc to receive a CD, a limit rod provided on the bottom of the projecting gear carrying a spring, and a slide block on the limit rod. The slide groove has a left-biasing mouth and a right-biasing mouth. The case has a rack engaging a bottom gear, and the bottom disc has a teeth base facing the rack. The slide block prohibits the linear motion of the bottom disc from interfering with rotation of the turntable.

    Abstract: A height adjusting device for a tone arm includes a stationary outer annular base, an inner annular base fitted rotatably but not moving up or down in the outer annular base, and a seat having the bottom fitted in the inner annular base and a tone arm fixed on the seat. The inner annular base has some sloped slots in the vertical wall. The sloped slots slopes in the same direction. The seat has projections on the vertical wall to fit and move in the sloped slots of the inner annular base. Then the inner annular base is manually rotated by a connector protruding out of a long slot of the outer annular base, causing said seat with the tone arm moved up or down by the projections moving back or forth in the sloped slots.

    Abstract: A satellite communications system is described. The system includes a plurality of satellites, each of which transmits one or more forward links containing traffic to one or more terrestrial users. Each forward link of each of the satellites has a maximum radiation limit. At least one terrestrial user is capable of concurrently receiving at least two of the forward links. The concurrently received forward links redundantly contain the traffic addressed to the user. A computing center has a traffic controller for allocating the traffic to the satellites using gateways. The traffic controller includes a fading model descriptive of fading characteristics for each of the one or more forward links; a link performance model descriptive of losses in each of the forward links; and a power allocation model for computing a traffic allocation for each satellite of the constellation of satellites. The traffic allocation causes transmitted satellite power to be less than the maximum radiation limit for each link.
