  • Patent number: 7280663
Abstract: Encryption is carried out based on a non field, non group algebraic structure. Preferably the algebraic structure is at least one of non-associative or non-commutative. An embodiment is described in which the algebraic structure is a crossed inverse quasigroup. A crossed inverse quasigroup can be a very large quasigroup e.g. of size 1010. Either the quasigroup itself, or rules for calculating the values in the quasigroup can be distributed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 22, 2000
Date of Patent: October 9, 2007
    Assignee: University of Southern California
Inventors: Solomon W. Golomb, Lloyd R. Welch, József Dénes
  • Patent number: 4163967
Abstract: A system for the condensation of a binary signal sequence and for the reproduction of the condensed signal sequence, in which the same encoding means is used both for the condensation and for the reproduction. In the reproduction mode of operation inverters are connected in series with the input and the output of the encoding means. The two inverters together with the encoding means act as a decoder because such a transformation function is selected for the encoding means at which the inverse transformation function is just the complementary function thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 14, 1977
Date of Patent: August 7, 1979
    Assignee: Szamitastechnikai Koordinacios Intezet
    Inventors: Jozsef Denes, Mihaly Szokolay
