Abstract: A reaction calorimeter probe having an inner tube having a pumpable reaction medium flowing therethrough, and an outer tube extending coaxially of the inner tube, a sealed space between the inner and outer tube, a first temperature sensor at an inlet end of the inner tube, a second temperature sensor at an outlet end of the inner tube, at a distance from the first temperature sensor, the first and second temperature sensors are in the space and in contact with the outer surface of the inner tube for measuring an absolute temperature of the inner tube, the first and second temperature sensors enable determinations of absolute temperatures, and a calculation device connected with the first and second temperature sensors, the calculation device to determine a first absolute temperature, a second absolute temperature and to determine a temperature difference between the first and second absolute temperatures.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method for determining the absolute temperature of a substance, comprising the steps of: sensing the absolute temperature of the substance and generating an absolute value associated therewith; sensing a temperature difference between the temperature of a reference body and the temperature of the substance and generating a difference value associated therewith; determining an optimised value of the absolute temperature of the substance by means of said absolute value and said difference value. The invention also relates to an apparatus for performing the method; a temperature control system for controlling the temperature of a substance; and an instrument comprising a substance, and such a temperature control system.

Abstract: Probe (1) to be used in a microcalorimeter for various types of heat measurements. The probe having a good thermal contact with thermodetectors (5,6) used in the calorimeter. The probe is designed as a substantially cylindrical hollow body has at least one outer surface (4, 11) which is in contact with the thermodetectors. The outer surface of the probe is provided with a helix groove (2) in which a tube (3) for supplying the continuous flows is arranged in good thermal contact with the probe. The cavity (10) of the body is used for the introduction of the ampoules (9).
