  • Patent number: 7832973
Abstract: An operating device in an application, in which movement in two different devices can be created using a single operating lever (9), the device being based on the rotation of sprockets. A sprocket (11) attached to the shaft (10) of the operating lever (9) is equipped on only part of its circumference with teeth that engage with the adjacent sprockets (13, 15). The operating device is mainly intended to move the press carrier and sidenipping device of a glue-binding device (1).

  • Patent number: 7404871
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for hot—gluing a bundle (2), particularly in a device that includes a glue reservoir (7) for storing a glue that has been made fluid, a glue-spreading roller (6) for spreading the glue onto the spine surface of the bundle (2), press devices, (3,4,5,2 1, 21?) for holding the bundle (2), and possible side-nip devices (16, 19, 20) for finishing the shape of the book. The bundle (2), which is held between two symmetrically positioned press plates (21, 21?), is pressed with the glue-spreading roller (6) to bend or fan out the edge of the bundle (2) and to open a gap between the cover sheet (11) and the outermost sheet of the bundle.

  • Patent number: 7182567
Abstract: A method and device for additional pressing during a page nipping event in the adhesive binding of books or corresponding objects. One part of the cover (1) and the spine of the book are folded around the block (2) formed by the book's pages and glued on the spine of the block. The other part of the cover is folded into shape by means of a moveable jaw (8). The aforementioned folding of the cover (1) is accomplished by the aid of an additional compactor (9) acting by way of a stiffening brace (10) supporting the block (2). Alternatively, the process may be aided directly by the flexible support (7) by, for example, making a fold in the support (7) which causes it to function as a spring.

  • Patent number: 7147422
Abstract: A method and a device for making book covers using surface material and cover pieces to be glued onto it. Cover pieces are positioned in the desired location in clamp, that can be rotated around axis, and the pieces are supported by means of stoppers into the desired position. After this, the cover pieces are rotated around axis, while still in the clamp, onto the adhesive surface of surface material sheet, and are pressed onto it.

  • Publication number: 20040076492
Abstract: A method and a device for making book covers using surface material (1) and cover pieces (2, 3, 4) to be glued onto it. Cover pieces (2, 3, 4) arc positioned in the desired location in clamp (14, 15, 16), that can be rotated around axis (13), and the pieces are supported by means of stoppers (10, 11, 12) into the desired position. After this, the cover pieces are rotated around axis (13), while still in the clamp, onto the adhesive surface of surface material sheet (1), and are pressed onto it.
