  • Patent number: 7301919
Abstract: A method of transmitting voice over IP (VoIP) in a wireless telecommunications system comprising at least one wireless mobile station, a first radio access gateway and a second radio access gateway. Address information of the second radio access gateway is defined in the first radio access gateway, if a need is detected to hand over the connection of the mobile station from a base station connected to the first radio access gateway to a base station connected to the second radio access gateway. Address information of the first radio access gateway is defined in the second radio access gateway. Data addressed to and transmitted from the mobile station is transferred through the first radio access gateway and the second radio access gateway when the handover has been performed to the base station connected to the second radio access gateway.

  • Publication number: 20040136382
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanism for providing mobility for IPv4 traffic using Mobile IPv6 protocol. Bindings are maintained in a first network node, each binding being an association of the home address with the care-of address of the mobile node. When the care-of address changes, the mobile node sends a binding update packet, said binding update packet including the new care-of address and the home address of the mobile node. A binding between the IPv4 home address and the IPv6 care-of address of the mobile node is notified in the packet by inserting in the packet an IPv6 address with the IPv4 home address embedded in it. When said binding has been created, IPv4 packets can be forwarded to the mobile node through an IPv4-in-IPv6 tunnel.

  • Patent number: 6675014
Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for updating a location register with an updated position of a mobile station operable in an H.323-based, radio communication system. RAS-protocol (registration, admissions, status-protocol) messages are generated in a H.323 network to effectuate the updating of the location register.
