  • Patent number: 7308863
Abstract: A system and method for the offshore transfer of liquefied natural gas from an LNG tanker vessel to a moored or dynamically positioned regasification plant is disclosed. Once the state of the natural gas has been changed from liquid to gas or regasified, the natural gas is conveyed to another location in a gaseous state.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 20, 2004
Date of Patent: December 18, 2007
    Inventor: Jaap de Baan
  • Patent number: 7051774
Abstract: The liquid cargo mooring and fluid transfer system of the present invention includes a first column affixed to the ocean floor. The first column supports one end of an extended length space frame. At the opposite end of the space frame is a buoyant support. The buoyant support includes a flat tank and a buoyant column. Fluid transfer equipment is attached to the column portion of the buoyant support on the second end of the space frame.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 14, 2004
Date of Patent: May 30, 2006
    Assignee: Bluewater Offshore Production
    Inventor: Jaap De Baan
  • Publication number: 20050042035
Abstract: A system and method for the offshore transfer of liquefied natural gas to a regasification plant is disclosed. Once the state of the natural gas has been changed from liquid to gas, the natural gas is conveyed to an onshore location.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 20, 2004
    Publication date: February 24, 2005
    Inventor: Jaap de Baan
  • Publication number: 20040161303
Abstract: The disclosed catenary anchor leg mooring system includes a cylindrical hull portion which reduces the tendency of the cylindrical hull to roll and pitch in response to the action of winds and waves. This motion reduction comes from changing the diameter and draft of the cylindrical hull.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 16, 2004
    Publication date: August 19, 2004

  • Patent number: 5957074
Abstract: A mooring and riser system for use with hydrocarbon production vessels includes a turret mooring system in which the mooring lines are grouped such as to have open sectors therebetween. Included in the open sector is a riser system which includes a subsea buoyancy element. Steel catenary production risers from the wellheads on the sea floor rise to the subsea buoyancy element. At the subsea buoyancy element, the steel catenary production risers are connected to flexible tubular jumper members which are then connected to the turret of the hydrocarbon production vessel.

    Assignee: Bluewater Terminals B.V.
Inventors: Jaap de Baan, Ries Uittenbogaard
  • Patent number: 5857808
Abstract: The connection between a surface terminus for subsea production risers and a surface collection vessel is facilitated by a connection which utilizes slack loop flexible jumper hoses between the surface terminus of the subsea risers and a swivel coupling located on the surface vessel.
