Abstract: Example embodiments of a removable and retractable firearm bayonet system are provided that include a blade and a mount. In typical embodiments, the blade is secured within the mount and the mount provides at least two secured positions. The secured positions include a retracted position wherein the blade is secured at least partially within the mount and an extended position wherein the blade is secured to the mount with at least a portion of the blade extending beyond the mount. In typical embodiments, the mount also includes one or more removable attachments to secure the mount to a rail system of a firearm.
