The modular insulator includes a first end member configured to couple to a support rail of an electrical power distribution system and a second end member configured to couple to the support rail. The modular insulator further includes at least one intermediate member comprising a groove and configured to releasably couple to at least one of the first and second end members such that the intermediate member is positioned between the first and second end members. The groove is configured to receive a portion of the electrical conductor.
