In order to facilitate production, each side wall has at least two sections connected to each other, whereby each of the sections is part of a one-piece blank each of which has two sections of which a first section is a section of the first wall and a second section is a section of the second side wall. At least one of the blanks has a third section which connects the first and second section to each other and which forms the catch strap.

In order to simplify the assembly of the knee airbag, the connecting line mainly extends transverse to the longitudinal direction (X) and shortens the rear section (22) in longitudinal direction.
