Abstract: An assembly for joining a section of pipe to a pipe fitting in which the pipe may be inserted into the fitting. The open face of the fitting has several J-shaped locks around its periphery into which locking lugs on a locking clamp may be inserted. The locking clamp includes a first and second locking clamp element each one being an annular one-half ring with a prong at one end and a cavity at the other to form a ring. The locking lug is on each such element and is adapted to fit into the J-shaped lock on the pipe fitting. The inner surface of the annular ring is provided with blades for embedment into the outside wall of the pipe as the two half rings are pulled together by tightening the bolts.

Abstract: A push one fitting for pipe joints and comprising a bell having a central bore adapted to receive one end of the pipe joint therein, a sealing member interposed between the outer periphery of the pipe joint and the inner periphery of the bell, and clamping apparatus cooperating directly with the bell for securing the bell in position on the pipe joint, the clamping apparatus being in the form of set screws extending through the sidewall of the bell for engagement with the pipe, or a split ring having a hook-shaped flange for engagement with a complementary groove on the outer periphery of the bell.

Abstract: A restraining ring and gland for a mechanical joint with a plain plastic pipe end including two semi-circular members securable together by lateral end flanges and having a cylindrical tapered bore having a roughened surface and provided with longitudinally spaced internal annular blunt edged ribs for gripping the plastic pipe without cutting the pipe surface. When the PVC pipe is coupled to iron pipe, one gland is used. When the PVC pipe is connected to a PVC bell or fitting, two glands are used secured together by longitudinal bolts.

Abstract: A set screw having a cutting element provided on the outer end thereof for a "biting" engagement with the outer periphery of a pipe, or the like, the cutting element comprising a cutting edge adapted for a penetration of the pipe in a manner requiring minimum torque on the screw during the installation thereof.
