  • Patent number: 11341553
Abstract: An apparatus and a method related to generating or using a shopping list are disclosed. Shopping lists aid a consumer in purchasing items. The apparatus and method may be used to trigger when to generate a shopping list, what items to include on the shopping list, cost associated with purchasing one or more items on the shopping list, sharing of or collaborating on the generation or purchase of items on the shopping list, using location-based tools (such as geo-fencing) when using a shopping list, evaluating different payment methods when purchasing items, and routing to/within stores when purchasing items from a shopping list.

  • Publication number: 20170364827
Abstract: Systems, technologies and techniques for generating prospective legal strategies are disclosed. The system and technologies employ data mining, natural language processing and machine learning approaches to generate prospective legal strategies. The system and technologies analyze given case facts (i.e., background facts, event type such as accident, injury, malpractice, discrimination) and provide a rich set of insights that assist in formulating effective legal arguments and strategies.

  • Publication number: 20060041597
Abstract: Many companies provide online search facilities that enable users to conduct computerized searches for documents. Unfortunately, these searches frequently provide results that include duplicate documents—that is, documents that are completely or substantially identical to each other. This problem is particularly vexing when searching news stories, for example. Moreover, the duplicate documents are intermixed in the search results, leaving users to manually manage the complexities of identifying and/or filtering them. Accordingly, the present inventors devised systems, methods, and software that facilitate the identification and/or grouping of duplicate documents in search results.

  • Publication number: 20050010605
Abstract: Some information retrieval systems, such as the Westlaw™ system, empower users to search thousands of databases. One problem with some systems is that the large number of databases makes it difficult for some users to identify the right database(s) to search. Accordingly, the inventors devised, among other things, new options for helping users target searches on the right databases. One exemplary option enables users to search sample-based database profiles. Another enables users to navigate to a category or subcategory in an online database directory and search databases or database profiles associated with the category. And, yet another enables users to select a query-category and receive a list of relevant database choices, a list of links into a database directory, or a sequence of follow-up questions. One or more of these or other disclosed innovations enable users to execute more effective search strategies, while potentially reducing computational burdens on information retrieval systems.
