  • Patent number: 5062448
Abstract: A Double Action Check Valve is shown provided with a flexible membrane secured between the inlet and outlet members, the membrane having apertures or orifices interiorly of the perimeter; substantially ball-shaped members centrally carried on either side of the membrane and under increased volume of flow from the inlet or outlet side of the ball-shaped members carried by it move in concert with the membrane as the membrane is caused to bow out or flex on either side of the coupling member as dictated by the volume of flow.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 1990
Date of Patent: November 5, 1991
    Assignee: Henry Hilsenbeck
Inventors: Henry Hilsenbeck, Jack E. Muck
  • Patent number: 4773832
Abstract: An improved diaphragm pump in which the diaphragm has a majority of its area available for flexure and deformation thereby allowing for a variable stroke length on the diaphragm pump and decreased wear of the diaphragm in operation. Additionally such a flexible diaphragm is additionally deformed by the pressure of the fluid in the pumping chamber thereby forming a "piston" of the diaphragm as it is deformed over the deforming piston of the pump.

  • Patent number: 4565488
Abstract: A method for protecting a compressor by reducing the differential pressure from the inlet to the outlet of the compressor by turbo-charging the inlet plenum of the compressor to reduce the normally present vacuum condition in the inlet, vacuum being simply a sub-ambient pressure. However, the inlet plenum is not increased to a pressure above ambient. Additionally by preventing a high vacuum condition from existing at the inlet plenum of the compressor by warning or even stopping the compressor if the vacuum reaches too great a level.

  • Patent number: 4531675
Abstract: An improved spray nozzle for use with air atomizable liquids wherein the spray pattern created by the atomizing nozzle may be adjusted from a circular pattern to a flat pattern or alternatively to an open oval, the open end facing in preselected directions, the adjustments being capable of occuring during the continuous operation of the nozzle. A pattern adjusting plate may be movably aligned with the pattern adjusting nozzles thereby creating the appropriate combination of pattern adjusting nozzles to create the desired pattern.

  • Patent number: 4530469
Abstract: An improved supply/shut-off valve for use in a multiple-user gas system wherein the valve is located in the gas supply line of each user, for the purpose of preventing pressure increases and decreases in the gas supply to each of the users when any of the other users is either added to or deleted from the multiple-user gas system.

  • Patent number: 4411388
Abstract: An improved apparatus for conveying friable lightweight particulate matter without destruction or excessive powdering is disclosed. A jet suction nozzle permits a gradual transition of pressure in the critical zone in which the material is acted upon by the jets. This is accomplished by a low jet duct angle and by the use of greater than usual quantities of air at lower than the usual pressures.
