  • Publication number: 20170206933
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that allow for media stream indexing and frame tagging for trick mode playback and navigation of digital video. A method of indexing a media stream is disclosed. The method includes: receiving a media stream having a plurality of frames including a current target frame, a previous target frame and a next target frame; inserting an empty navigation control block (NCB) proximate to the current target frame to which it is associated; and populating the NCB with data including offset data for the previous target frame, current target frame and next target frame.

  • Patent number: 7720350
Abstract: In one of many possible embodiments, a method is provided for controlling trick mode playback speed. Frame indices associated with video frames of a digital video stream are monitored and a Group-of-Pictures (GOP) size is determined from the frame indices. One or more trick mode play speed parameters are calculated based on the determined GOP size. Presentation of the video frames is controlled based on the calculated trick mode play speed parameters. In one embodiment, the trick mode play speed parameters include a frame-skip count (FSC) and a frame-repeat count (FRC).

  • Publication number: 20080252737
Abstract: An apparatus includes an imaging device that captures a plurality of positional signals emitted from an interactive control device, which is moveable in a three-dimensional control space in the field of view of the imaging device, to form a two-dimensional image having one or more control points. Further, the apparatus includes a display that has a display control area in which a positional signal object and one or more control objects are displayed for interaction with the interactive control device. In addition, the apparatus includes a processor that that generates a positional signal object based on the one or more control points and maps the one or more control objects and the positional signal object to a data structure so that an interaction between the one or more control objects and the positional signal object is spatially-synchronized. The positional signal object and the one or more control objects are rendered in the display control area.
