  • Patent number: 10737769
Abstract: A control grip for an aircraft control stick or yoke has within it electrically controlled actuators. Each actuator extends a thrust pin that corresponds with the fingertips of the pilot's hand that is holding the control grip. Additional thrust pins are positioned at the base of the thumb and base of the index finger. The actuators, upon receiving their electrical input, extend their thrust pin a small distance and press on the pilot's fingertips. This movement signals the pilot information that is currently conveyed to the pilot's eyes or ears through conventional instruments. Angle of attack for “best rate of climb” would be indicated to the pilot by an extension of the thrust pin that corresponds to the third finger. Angle of attack for “best angle of climb” would be indicated by the extension of the thrust pin that corresponds to the pilot's second finger. Angle of attack at which the wing reaches aerodynamic stall would be indicated by the button that corresponds to the index finger.

  • Patent number: 5507059
Abstract: An electrically powered eraser accepts an elongate circularly cylindrical erasing element between three driving rollers symmetrically arrayed about the erasing element with axes angulated to the axes of the other driving cylinders and to the axis of the erasing element so that the driving cylinders contact the erasing element near its exit end. The three driving cylinders are positionally maintained in a housing extending thereabout and are interconnected for similar rotary motion by driving bands, gears or the erasing element itself. At least one of the driving cylinders is powered to rotate all cylinders in the same direction to cause the erasing element to rotate and move axially from the exit end of the rollers by reason of roller rotation.

  • Patent number: 4991116
Abstract: Apparatus combining the input function of a digitizer and the output function of a plotter to provide a current simultaneous plot of computer input as traditionally provided by a cathode ray tube display is disclosed for computer aided drawing. The apparatus provides a casement having a transparent upper working surface comprising a digitizer pad that is operated responsive to position of a separated puck. Transparent drawing film is releasably maintained in a uniquely determined position by a peg type fastening element on the underside of the transparent upper working surface. Flat-bed type plotting apparatus is carried in the casement beneath the drawing film for operative contact with the undersurface thereof. The plotting apparatus provides a marking member and a correction member. The upper working surface of the casement provides plural switches to input keyboard type instructions to an associated computer.
