Abstract: A luminary dimming system having a three terminal dimming unit. The dimming unit includes a power controller and a receiver and is responsive to dimming directives received by the receiver. The power controller controls a buck switch and a freewheel switch in a manner that allows reduction of alternating current voltages. Such voltage reduction is accomplished in a manner that preserves the waveform of the source voltage and the power factor exhibited by the luminary.

Abstract: A method for air conditioning using a primary power source augmented with an ancillary power source which is accomplished by receiving a heat-laden first working fluid at an initial pressure; pre-pressurizing the heat-laden first working fluid to a pre-pressurization pressure according to an amount of available ancillary power; passing the pre-pressurized heat-laden first working fluid to a primary compressor when the pressure of the pre-pressurized heat-laden first working fluid is greater than the initial pressure; and passing the heat-laden first working fluid at the initial pressure, or at a pressure that is slightly less that the initial pressure, to the primary compressor when the pressure of the pre-pressurized heat-laden first working fluid is not greater than the initial pressure.

Abstract: The present invention combines a small, compact, light-in-weight television receiver with a positioning mechanism that allows the television viewer to orient the television screen to suit her own comfort. The small size of the television receiver is intended to service only a few viewers at a time. Since the present invention utilizes a small, lightweight television receiver, a much more agile positioning mechanism can be employed.The television receiver is supported in space by the articulation mechanism. The articulation mechanism can be attached to a wall, the headboard of a bed, to a piece of medical equipment, or to any other fixed object. An umbilical cable is drawn through the articulation mechanism and connects the television receiver to a power adapter. The power adapter accepts utility power from household convenience outlets and draws television signals from an antenna or a cable television outlet.
