  • Patent number: 12338636
Abstract: A unique modified shiplap joint with matching or corresponding reverse curves on opposing edges or ends of a piece of siding, each forming one-half of the joint: an underlap edge, and an overlap edge. The respective curves engage and resist or prevent separation of the edges, particularly under a pre-determined wind load. A fastener channel in the underlap section allows for a nail or fastener to be used, while the nail head is then covered by the adjacent overlap section. The respective edges form an angled gap, which is configured to prevent water or rain from entering.

  • Patent number: 12245581
Abstract: A trap catches multiple iguanas and/or other nuisance animals in one setting. The trap may include a larger confinement volume having a one-way entry door on at least one side and in other embodiments on all sides that remain active no matter how many iguanas are in the trap. The entry door is designed such that once the iguana has started through the door it cannot turn back. Access to remove the iguanas is also provided. A large bait station that can hold several days of bait and be easily rebaited with minimal contact with the trap is also provided. An auxiliary cage may be coupled to the trap to off-load captured iguanas without moving the primary trap.

  • Patent number: 12242086
Abstract: The invention relates to an acrylic light diffusing material providing spectral uniformity over the visible light range, defined herein as from 400 to 800 nm. The light diffusing material provides a uniform light transmission for light engines having two or more light sources with different spectral emission peaks. Due to its high hiding performance, the light diffusing material of the invention is especially useful with LED point light sources. The diffusing material contains a transparent polymer matrix and one or more types of diffusing materials, providing an optimal balance of spectral uniformity, light transmission, diffusion, and hiding performance.

  • Publication number: 20250042959
Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for inhibiting collagen production mediated by the Fused in Sarcoma (FUS) ribonucleoprotein. As disclosed herein, the C terminal domain of FUS contains an uncommon nuclear localization sequence (NLS) motif called PY-NLS that binds the nuclear import receptor transportin. Phosphorylation of FUS leads to its association with transportin and nuclear translocation with consequent increased in collagen production. Therefore, disclosed herein is an isolated peptide having a transportin-binding moiety, which inhibits FUS from binding transportin, linked to a membrane translocating motif. These compositions and methods can be used to inhibit FUS-mediated collagen production, and treat fibrotic disease involving FUS-mediated collagen accumulation in kidneys and other organs displaying fibrotic diseases.
