Abstract: A rotary internal combustion engine apparatus has an engine housing having a chamber therein having a base along with intake and exhaust ports and a cover attached thereto. A rotor is rotatably mounted in the engine housing chamber which rotor has a rotor support portion extending from each end thereof and rotatably mounted between the housing base and the cover plate. The rotor has a plurality of vane slots therein and a vane control shaft is mounted at a predetermined fixed position within the center portion of the rotor and has two end portions, one of which is fixedly attached to the engine housing camber base and at least two vane position control portions positioned between the end portions. A plurality of vanes are slidably mounted in the rotor plurality of vane control slots for rotation with the rotor.

Abstract: An apparatus to massage a person's back which may be incorporated into a chair, or the like, and having a frame having a plurality of movable slats mounted transversely thereon and having a cover thereover. An electric motor is mounted to the frame and is operatively connected to an elongated cam rotably supported on the frame for rotation by the electric motor. The elongated cam is mounted adjacent to said plurality of slats and forms a helix on a shaft connected to the electric motor so that rotation of the elongated cam will raise and lower individual slats responsive to the cam pushing thereagainst.

A fluid coupler is located between the fluid pump and the inflatable members, which coupler intermittently reverses the direction of the flow to the inflatable members in a predetermined time sequence so as to direct a positive air pressure into the inflatable member followed by a negative air pressure.

Abstract: A hydraulic or pneumatic coupling including a hydraulic or pneumatic pump and a hydraulic or pneumatic motor driven by the pump through a coupling has two pairs of adjacent chambers divided and connected by a rotatable valve element which allows the varying of speed and direction of the motor. The coupling forms the key element to a hydraulic or pneumatic actuated transmission.
