Abstract: A strapping tool and a pump used thereby are disclosed herein. In one or more embodiments, the strapping tool includes a battery-powered motor; a hydraulic assembly operatively coupled to the battery-powered motor; and a sealing assembly, the sealing assembly comprising at least one crimping jaw member, the hydraulic assembly operatively coupling the at least one crimping jaw member to the battery-powered motor, and the at least one crimping jaw member of the sealing assembly configured to crimp or notch a strapping seal member so as to secure a piece of strapping around a package or bundle of items. In one or more embodiments, the pump includes a pump rotor; and a plurality of balls displaced by the pump rotor, the plurality of balls configured to displace a fluid in the pump. The pump contains no linkage members and no piston.
