These include a sample card distributor 4; a machine-readable label 3 incorporated in a sample card 2, a machine-readable label writer 6 for writing data associated with a product 5 onto the machine-readable label 3, and a device for distributing samples 7 which includes a machine-readable label reader 9 for reading the machine-readable label 3; a database 12 containing sample information; means for packaging and distributing samples 14; and a processor 11 for receiving data from the machine-readable label reader 9, obtaining sample information from the database 12, and directing the means for packaging and distributing samples 14 to package and distribute at least one sample.

Abstract: A dynamically illuminated product display device, system, and method includes a shelf 110 having a series of electrical contacts 120 arranged on an upper surface thereon, the shelf being adapted for connection with a power source. A package 101 covers at least a portion of a product, the package having an electro luminescent material 105 arranged on at least a portion of an exterior surface and electrical contacts 115 arranged on a portion of a bottom surface and in electrical connection with the electro luminescent material 1051, so that when the package is arranged on the shelf, the electrical contacts 115 on the bottom surface of the package 101 are facing the electrical contacts 120 arranged on the shelf 110. The product package can display a backlight, an image such as a product logo, or part or a whole message to enhance the possibility of consumer selection.

Abstract: A garment 20 includes magnetic interconnects 21 which serve to form mechanical connections to close garment 20 as well as to form electrical connections, for example, between power source 4 and a device 7. Interconnects 21 are formed by a first portion 22 and a second portion 23 which form a mechanical connection via magnetic attraction. First 22 and second 23 portions can be quickly coupled and decoupled and contain all the advantages of magnetic couplings, including ease of connection and simplicity of design.

Abstract: A wearable garment, usable by athletes, workers, and the elderly or infirm, incorporates an easily operated manual sliding switch, so that a user wearing the garment can operate different electronic devices by merely activating the switch through a slidable action by the user. The sliding switch comprises a housing having a sliding chamber, a conductive element disposed, and at least one magnetic element that slides up and down along the surface of the housing so as to enable an electrical connection by moving the magnetic element from one end to the other.
