Patent number: 9090829Abstract: An apparatus for controlled blowing of asphalt comprises a stator block, a rotor, a motor, a gap, a gas conduit, and a porous plug. The rotor resides within a cylindrical interior chamber of the stator block. When engaged, the motor causes the rotor to rotate about the longitudinal axis of the rotor. A porous plug is within a gas conduit at an opening into the interior chamber of the stator block. The porous plug allows the gas to pass from the gas conduit into the gap as tiny bubbles. In this way, the asphalt continuously enters the apparatus at the inlet end of the interior chamber, passes through a gap between the interior chamber and the rotor where gas is blown through the porous plug and into the asphalt while the motor rotates the rotor, and exits the apparatus at the outlet end of the interior chamber as blown asphalt.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2014Date of Patent: July 28, 2015Assignee: STRATEGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Alan Nigel McGrevy, Jack Nelson Dunigan, Rocky C. Patent number: 8044255Abstract: The present disclosure relates to personal care products such as diapers, training pants, feminine care articles, incontinence articles, bandages, and the like, that have been treated to enhance liquid intake and distribution performance characteristics and reduce leakage. Advantageously, the treated personal care products described herein not only reduce the viscosity and elasticity of viscoelastic fluids that come in contact with the treated product, but also reduce the fouling effect of such fluids.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2006Date of Patent: October 25, 2011Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: David Charles Potts, Jack Nelson Lindon

Patent number: 7928282Abstract: The present invention provides a substrate treated with an linked enzyme. It has been discovered that a substrate treated with a linked enzyme can be effective in improving the ability of the substrate to absorb viscoelastic materials, such as menses, by cleaving a protein structure present in some viscoelastic materials. In addition, the linked enzyme is less likely to migrate from the treated material onto the user, as compare to an enzyme being placed directly on the substrate, thereby reducing the risk of sensitization to the user of the absorbent product. Also provided by the present invention are absorbent articles which contain at least one surface or layer containing the linked enzyme.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2004Date of Patent: April 19, 2011Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Karyn Clare Dibb, David Charles Potts, Jack Nelson Lindon, Alice Y. Romans-Hess
