    Abstract: A portable worktable is provided which is adapted to be supported on and mounted to an available auxiliary support structure for positioning and gripping a work piece and to provide a work surface at a desired work level. The worktable is configured to utilize the auxiliary support structure for supporting or steadying a work piece. An extensible mounting device which is adapted to be retracted and nested in a base of the worktable for storage is described.
