Patent number: 11136443Abstract: The invention relates to multi-layer thermoplastic composites, and in particular composites having fluoropolymer in the outer layer and a thermoplastic substrate layer. The fluoropolymer outer layer may either be a layer comprising a majority, and preferably 100 percent fluoropolymer, or may be a blend of a thermoplastic matrix with fluoropolymer at a level of from 5 to 60 weight percent, based on the total weight of all polymers. Especially useful thermoplastic matrices include acrylic polymers, and styrenic polymers, especially styrenic copolymers such as acrylonitrile/styrene/acrylate (ASA), acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene (ABS) and styrene/acrylonitrile (SAN). While the fluoropolymer may be any fluoropolymer, thermoplastic fluoropolymers, such as polymers and copolymers of polyvinylidene fluoride are especially useful.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: October 5, 2021Assignee: Arkema FranceInventors: Charles C. Crabb, Jack Reed, Florence Mehlmann, Adam N. Toft, Amy A. Lefebvre

Patent number: 11007760Abstract: The invention relates to multilayer composites having improved weathering properties without reducing flame retardation properties. The composites have a fluoropolymer layer over a thermoplastic layer. The multilayer composite may be a fluoropolymer layer directly over a relatively flammable substrate or non-flammable substrate (like PVC), or it may be a fluoropolymer layer over a relatively flammable cap layer, over a substrate (that is flammable or non-flammable). The composite is formed using coating, coextrusion and/or lamination techniques. The multilayer composite is especially useful in articles having surfaces that are used in a relatively horizontal position, including decking, railings, roofing and window profiles. The composites provide improved weathering for the substrate without a reduction in flame-resistance, when compared to the substrate without the outer fluoropolymer layer.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2020Date of Patent: May 18, 2021Assignee: Arkema FranceInventors: Adam N. Toft, Jack Reed, Amy A. Lefebvre, Charles C. Crabb, Florence Mehlmann

Patent number: 5395150Abstract: A tire loader basket assembly for a tire press includes a frame; a plurality of loader shoes mounted for radial movement on the frame; an adjusting plate mounted for rotation with respect to the frame and connected to each of the shoes by a respective link such that rotation of the adjusting plate causes radial movement of the shoes; an actuating plate mounted for rotation with respect to the frame by operation of an actuating means connected to the actuating plate; and means for releasably connecting the adjusting and actuating plates together so that when the plates are connected, they rotate together by operation of the actuating means, and when the plates are unconnected, the adjusting plate can be rotated to set a movement limit for the shoes.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1993Date of Patent: March 7, 1995Assignee: National Feedscrew & Machining Ind., Inc.Inventors: Donald C. Patent number: 4984931Abstract: A control knob and adaptor assembly, for providing axial position adjustment of a knob relative to a switch shaft having an adaptor with a collar that has a central opening formed therein to receive the switch shaft. The adaptor is disposable at varying positions along the shaft length. A set screw is extendable through the collar for securing the collar to the switch shaft. The collar has an outer surface formed to engage a central aperture formed on the inner surface of the knob.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1989Date of Patent: January 15, 1991Assignee: Dana InnovationsInventors: Scott Struthers, Jerry Curtis, Jack Reed
