  • Patent number: 9618296
Abstract: A innovative sliding valve used in paintball gun or other compressed gas propelled firearm, wherein a portion of the valve body where air is exhausted is reduced in size to allow pressurized air to exhaust more quietly around the valve body by feeding into the air exhaust apertures formed on an extended wall of valve body. Because the air pressure is balanced between two equal, or nearly equal, sized O-rings on a central spindle, the valve can be opened more smoothly and quietly, and with less opening force. Further, because the exhaust O-ring is contained with apertures and seals against the escaping air, with the resulting compression of the O-ring away from the sealing surface, the O-ring is held in place, and cutting and wear of the O-ring is substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 7490598
Abstract: A paintball marker or other compressed gas firearm is provided including a ram driven by an electropneumatic valve when a trigger is actuated to cause a main valve between a high pressure air supply and a firing chamber to be opened. This ram assembly is independent from the main valve structurally and coupled to the air supply and electropneumatic valve sufficiently flexibly to allow the ram assembly to be operable when the ram assembly is displaced away from the main valve. A bolt is provided for directing pressurized air from the main valve to the firing chamber when the main valve is opened, and with the bolt configured to provide a high pressure air pathway which has a high degree of effectiveness in driving the ball out of the firing chamber without distorting a trajectory of the ball. The bolt can be stationary when air is flowing past the bolt.

  • Patent number: 7150276
Abstract: Paintball marker including a firing chamber having a barrel coupled to one end and a removable back plug coupled to an opposing end, a door surmounting a chamber loading hole disposed between back plug and barrel; a cam coupled to door; an actuator coupled to door cam; a pin valve interposed in a first gas path between a gas source and a passage leading to the chamber, and a trigger coupled to a second gas path between the gas source and actuator for opening the second gas path for actuating the actuator such that the door cam transforms motion of the actuator into pivoting motion of the door from an open position such that a paintball is loaded into the chamber to a closed position and then continuing to actuate the actuator to coact with the pin valve for opening the first gas path for firing the paintball.

  • Patent number: 6802306
Abstract: A paint ball marker 10 is provided with a rapid loading and firing configuration. A compressed gas is fed to a trigger valve 30 which controls a position of a ram 40. When a trigger 24 is pulled, the trigger valve 30 directs air to the ram 40 so that a piston 44 within the ram 40 causes a unity bracket 50 to move. This unity bracket 50 controls an activator valve 60, causing a charge of compressed gas to be released from a charge chamber 80 to an entrance 91 of the firing chamber 90 where a paint ball is fired from the firing chamber 90. The unity bracket 50 also causes a loading slide 100 to activate a door 110 immediately after firing of the paint ball from the firing chamber 90 so that the door 110 is moved from a closed position to an open position. In the open position a loading hole 96 routes another paint ball into the firing chamber 90.
