    Abstract: A fishing tool having a handle and a body with one or more notches is provided to facilitate wrapping and holding a sufficient length of fishing line around the tool to permit the line to be forcefully pulled from a point of entanglement. The handle can be a grip-aperture defined by the body. In a preferred embodiment, the tool is provided with a beveled lower edge to facilitate using the tool to slice bait. A method for releasing a snagged fishing line is also disclosed.
