  • Publication number: 20210315661
Abstract: Medical software tools platforms utilize a surgical display to provide access to specific medical software tools, such as medically-oriented applications or widgets, that can assist surgeons or surgical team in performing various procedures. In particular, an endoscopic camera may register the momentary rise in the optical signature reflected from a tissue surface and in turn transmit it to a medical image processing system which can also receive patient heart rate data and display relevant anomalies. Changes in various spectral components and the speed at which they change in relation to a source of stimulus (heartbeat, breathing, light source modulation, etc.) may indicate the arrival of blood, contrast agents or oxygen absorption. Combinations of these may indicate various states of differing disease or margins of tumors, and so forth. Also, changes in temperatures, physical dimensions, pressures, photoacoustic pressures and the rate of change may indicate tissue anomalies in comparison to historic values.

  • Publication number: 20210279895
Abstract: Optical flow refers to the pattern of apparent motion of objects, surfaces, and edges in a visual scene caused by the relative motion between an observer and a scene. Optical flow algorithms can be used to detect and delineate independently moving objects, even in the presence of camera motion. The present invention uses optical-flow algorithms to detect and remove marine snow particles from live video. Portions of an image scene which are identified as marine snow are reconstructed in a manner intended to reveal underwater scenery which had been occluded by the marine snow. Pixel locations within the regions of marine snow are replaced with new pixel values that are determined based on either historical data for each pixel or a mathematical operation, such as one which uses data from neighboring pixels.

  • Patent number: 11051891
Abstract: Medical software tools platform utilizes a surgical display to provide access to specific medical software tools, such as medically-oriented applications or tools, that can assist those in the operating room, such as a surgeon or surgical team, with a surgery. In particular, an optical sensor located within an endoscopic camera may register subtle differences in color characteristics reflected from a tissue surface and in turn transmit the information to a medical image processing system. Moreover, the new tools are intended to help surgeons better determine the boundaries between healthy and diseased regions during surgical procedures. Various tools are intended to be used in procedures where indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescent dye is used. Intraoperative fluorescence imaging is commonly used during minimally invasive procedures to enable surgeons to visualize tissue perfusion and anatomical structures. The term perfusion refers to the passage of blood and tissue fluid through the capillary bed.

  • Patent number: 10999587
Abstract: Various embodiments relate to systems and methods for simultaneously switching input image streams to output devices, while providing optional image processing functions on the image streams. Certain embodiments may enable multiple users/viewers to collaboratively control such systems and methods. Additionally, some embodiments may enable control by a set of computer input devices (e.g., keyboard and mouse) to switch between multiple computer systems, possibly by following the movement of a computer input device cursor, between virtual displays, as the cursor is controlled by the set of computer input devices.

  • Publication number: 20210113060
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to high resolution imagery for a medical environment. Various embodiments provide for a surgical camera, such as an endoscopic camera, comprising an array of image sensors. The array of image sensors may be configured to capture static images or video, may be configured to capture imagery of biological tissue (e.g., surfaces), and may be specifically configured to capture imagery within a surgical environment. For some embodiments, the array of image sensors multiplies the number of available pixels by the number of image sensors, thereby facilitating high resolution image data (e.g., one or more static images or video). The collected image data may be processed at or near real-time to provide very high-quality imagery (e.g., images or video) that can be enhanced or magnified for medical purposes, which can provide a medical care giver (e.g., surgeon) better visibility during medical procedures.
