  • Patent number: 10174869
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present clamps include a first clamp portion having a first end defining a recess and a second end configured to be coupled to a first structure, a second clamp portion having a first end configured to be coupled to a second structure and a second end configured to be received in the recess of the first clamp portion, and a shear pin configured to secure the second clamp portion relative to the first clamp portion. Some embodiments include a retaining member disposed in the recess. In some embodiments, the recess and/or retaining member is configured to resist shearing of the shear pin if a force is applied to the second clamp portion in a first direction, but not if the force is applied in a second direction. In some embodiments, the first direction is substantially parallel with, but opposite to, the second direction.

  • Publication number: 20180140736
Abstract: An ornamental fragrance dispenser for spreading fragrant aroma in selected areas. The air freshener filter insert is a strip of permeable solid strip of material impregnated with a time release substance of selected fragrance. An air freshener strip of selected dimensions is disposed in a cooperatively engaging slot formed in the dispensing device mountable to an air vent of a vehicle of air displacement device such as a fan or suspended in a selected area by hanging means. The dispenser is a perforated housing or shell including a void shaped to receive and hold an absorbent strip containing time release liquid with natural oils which evaporate to spread a pleasant aroma in the surrounding area. The shell includes hanging means such as a hook, eyelet and cord, sticky tape and clip for hanging the shell from a car mirror, air vent, ceiling fan, kitchen appliance such as refrigerator, dishwasher, gym locker, and so on.

  • Patent number: 6787786
Abstract: The present invention relates to radiation sources and a method for producing radiation sources. Embodiments of the present invention are directed to radiation sources that can be used to calibrate nuclear imaging equipment, such as flood sources. According to embodiments of the invention, the radiation source includes a outer housing that contains a substrate upon which a radioactive pattern is deposited. The radioactive deposit may be placed on the surface of the substrate in the form of a deposited solution and may be fixed to the surface of the substrate by, for example, a binding agent and/or a sealing layer. The deposited solution may also include a colorant to visually indicate the activity distribution of the radioactive deposit.

  • Patent number: 4174957
Abstract: A synthetic growing medium comprising a thorough mixture of urea formaldehyde foam granules, powdered humus, and a wetting agent. The medium also includes plant nutrients, trace elements, and pH adjusting material. The growing medium is prepared by grinding urea formaldehyde foam into granules having an average diameter of between 0.1 and 1.0 centimeter. Separately, humus, such as peat, is ground to a powder. A liquid wetting agent is sprayed onto the humus and thereafter the wetting agent-carrying humus powder is mixed with the foam granules. The proportion of foam to humus is within the range of 250 parts foam to one part humus to one part foam to five parts humus. At any appropriate time, nutrients, trace elements, and pH adjusting materials are added to the mixture.
