Abstract: A tethering device having plural ground-penetrating legs which are laterally spaced along the major portion of their lengths and are joined at their aboveground ends for supporting a ball bearing swivel assembly. Segments of the plural legs penetrate a centerbore through the inner race of the bearing assembly as well as a pair of protective cover plates between which the bearing assembly is sandwiched. The upper terminal end surfaces of the legs are exposed for receiving impact forces required to drive the legs into the ground.
