  • Patent number: 6167033
Abstract: The present invention provides a multiparty network communication system, which is constructed by connecting system users in serial. Various types of information are packed and encoded according to protocol into information packets. When information packets are transmitted within the network, the receiving party distinguishes them according to the coding to be voice or data information and forwards them to various modules at user's end for further processing. Voice information is processed by virtue of the superimposing technology that mixes the receiving information with the voice information received at user's end and forwards to other adjoining users. A multiparty voice communication is then realized. Moreover, the present invention provides methods of manipulating user's system failure so in case one user system among conference participants fails, his neighboring users will be automatically connected to allow other participants to continue the multiparty network conferencing.

  • Patent number: 5995919
Abstract: An automatic multi-lingual recognizing method for distinguishing multi-lingual characters among different codes is disclosed. The method includes determining the code legitimacy of characters of a whole text by comparing code blocks of the characters with predefined code ranges of code systems. Next, if the code legitimacy of the characters is not uniquely recognized, the characters of the whole text is analyzed to determine whether the characters are common phrases by comparing the characters with common-phrase data bases. Finally, if the analysis of the common phrase of the characters is not uniquely recognized, the characters of the text is then analyzed to determine whether the characters are common words by comparing the characters with common-word data bases.

  • Patent number: 5987447
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for searching sentences by analyzing words. The method arranges the expressive conceptual words of words in a sentence data base to establish a corresponding index table of conceptual words and sentences. Next, the conceptual words of words are arranged, namely, by performing the conceptual distinguishing of words to establish a corresponding index table of words and conceptual words. After a user inputs a word, many expressive conceptual words of the word are searched through the corresponding index table of words and conceptual words. After the user inputs an option signal to select an expectant conceptual word of the word, appropriate sentences are searched through the corresponding index table of conceptual words and sentences and a sentence data base. Using the above method, the present invention can effectively raise the ratio of hitting the target for searching an appropriate sentence, and increase the speed of searching sentence.

  • Patent number: 5960062
Abstract: A method of recording the bi-directional communication between a customer premises equipment (CPE) and a server of a stored program controlled system (SPCS) in an analog display services interface (ADSI) for facilitating the troubleshooting therein is disclosed. The present invention includes accessing the telephone set by a user, therefore initiating the communication between the telephone set and the server. After receiving an alerting signal from the server, the alerting signal and the corresponding received time of the alerting signal are recorded into a trace area in the telephone set. A first acknowledgment signal is sent to the server after the alerting signal is recognized, and the first acknowledgment signal is then recorded in the trace area. At least one message is sent from the server, and then the message, a start received time and an end received time of the message are recorded into the trace area and a message buffer.
