Abstract: A vascular access system is provided for providing blood flow between two locations in a vascular system of a patient. The vascular access system includes a fluid conduit configured to be fluidly coupled to a first location and a second location in the vascular system of the patient. The fluid conduit includes a peripheral portion comprising a first inner diameter, and a central portion comprising a second inner diameter that is smaller than the first inner diameter.
