  • Patent number: 11960024
Abstract: A system for measuring the orientation angle of automotive collision avoidance sensors. An adaptive spacer is supported to conformably interengage the collision avoidance sensor module of a vehicle being repaired. The adaptive spacer extends outwardly from the sensor module and the orientation angle of the sensor module is transposed by the adaptive spacer to form an angular guideline on an underlying calibration board, mat or other surface. The angle between the angular guideline and a base guideline parallel to the center line of the vehicle and the angular guideline is measured to provide the orientation angle of the vehicle's sensor module.

  • Publication number: 20240035927
Abstract: A system is provided for calibrating ADAS sensors of a motor vehicle supported on a substantially level underlying floor. The system includes a target assembly having a base for engaging the floor. The base includes a linear alignment edge. The target assembly further includes an upright support attached to and extending vertically upwardly from the base, which support carries an ADAS target panel having a target surface secured to and facing forwardly of the base. The target surface has a horizontal axis substantially parallel to the linear alignment edge. An elongate alignment element engages and extends forwardly from the linear alignment edge. The system is positioned and oriented on the floor such that the target surface faces and opposes the ADAS sensors and the alignment element aligns with a longitudinal centerline of the motor vehicle and extends perpendicularly from the linear alignment edge of the base.

  • Patent number: 10535280
Abstract: An electronic guidance system for visually impaired persons includes a sensor for detecting the proximity and orientation of an approaching object and a microprocessor that is programmed to translate signals from the sensor into audible signals that are projected by directionally oriented speaker components into the user's ears. The system enables the user to determine the proximity, location, movement and identity of the approaching object.

  • Patent number: 9175582
Abstract: An engine system and method for variable valve lift (VVL) diagnostic techniques are provided. In one exemplary implementation, the techniques include receiving, at a controller, a camshaft position signal indicative of detected edges of teeth of a camshaft toothed member that is coupled to a camshaft of an engine. The camshaft is configured to actuate a VVL system, which is configured to control a lift of a valve of the engine. The techniques also include calculating, at the controller, a camshaft speed signal indicative of a rotational speed of the camshaft based on the camshaft position signal. A valve stuck index (VSI) value is then calculated, at the controller, based on the camshaft speed signal. The techniques also include determining, at the controller, whether the valve is stuck based on a comparison of the VSI value to a predetermined threshold.
