  • Patent number: 4397072
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method of expanding the width of an embossing roll which is composed of two or more embossing sleeves. Spacer washers are positioned between the sleeves to provide an embossing roll of the desired width. The outer edge of the spacer washers are then shaped to the pattern of the embossing sleeves so as to blend the pattern on the edge of one embossing sleeve to the pattern on an adjacent edge of another embossing sleeve.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 9, 1983
    Assignee: Armstrong World Industries, Inc.
    Inventor: Jacob A. Otthofer, Jr.
  • Patent number: 4362808
Abstract: A print screen stencil for printing with corrosive printing compositions is disclosed. The stencil comprises a screen fabric having open mesh areas in a predetermined pattern adapted to allow the passage of a printing composition to a substrate positioned beneath the fabric and filled or closed mesh areas adapted to prevent the passage of a printing composition, the filled mesh areas comprising a resist coating encasing the mesh in the filled areas, the resist coating comprising cross-linked acrylic polymer intimately dispersed in fused vinyl resin.
