  • Publication number: 20170293622
Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying a visualizable results list are disclosed. A method includes receiving, by a processing device, a search query including a plurality of search terms, grouping, by the processing device, the search terms into a plurality of units, where each unit includes a related one or more of the search terms, accessing, by the processing device, metadata for each document in a plurality of search results that corresponds to the search query, annotating, by the processing device, one or more locations in each document with a first indicator for each of the search terms in a first unit and a second indicator for each of the search terms in a second unit based on the metadata, and displaying, by the processing device, a visualizable results list comprising the search results with the first indicator and the second indicator.

  • Publication number: 20170235799
Abstract: Systems and methods for searching databases using graphical user interfaces that include concept stacks are disclosed. A method includes providing for display graphical user interface comprising a query building canvas. The graphical user interface includes concept stacks that include stacked concept nodes associated with query terms that are joined with Boolean ORs. The concept stacks are connected by a conjunctive proximity connector that joins the query expressions associated with each concept stack. The graphical user interface includes a connector node that includes a graphical indication of the conjunctive proximity connector. The method further includes generating a search query to include query expressions associated with the concept stacks that are connected by the conjunctive proximity connector. The method further includes searching the database using the search query to identify the result set of documents.

  • Publication number: 20170177679
Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying estimated relevance indicators for result sets of documents and for displaying query visualizations are disclosed. A method includes receiving a search query including a plurality of query terms. The method further includes searching a database using the search query to identify the result set of documents and calculating an estimated relevance score for the result set of documents. The estimated relevance score is indicative of a degree to which the result set of documents are relevant to the search query. The method further includes providing for display the estimated relevance indicator based on the estimated relevance score. The estimated relevance indicator provides a visual indication of the degree to which the result set of documents are relevant to the search query. Query visualizations including a plurality of nodes and a plurality of connectors are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160140210
Abstract: Systems and methods to identify potential material fact sentences in electronic legal documents obtained from electronic repositories are disclosed. A system includes a processing device and a storage medium in communication with the processing device. The storage medium includes programming instructions that cause the processing device to obtain a document and parse text within the document to determine whether each paragraph in the document is a fact paragraph, a discussion paragraph, or an outcome paragraph based on at least one of a heading associated with the paragraph and features of the paragraph. The storage medium further includes programming instructions that cause the processing device to extract each sentence in the fact paragraph, direct a trained sentence classifier to determine whether each sentence is a potential material fact sentence or a non-material fact sentence based on features of the sentence, and identify potential material fact sentences.

  • Publication number: 20160085739
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a two-dimensional graphical grid representation of the treatment of a document are disclosed. A method includes receiving a request to generate the two-dimensional graphical grid representation of the treatment of the document with respect to at least one variable. In response to the received request, the method further includes retrieving, by a computer, treatment information associated with the document with respect to the at least one variable from a database. The method further includes generating a message containing the retrieved treatment information of the document with respect to the at least one variable, transmitting the generated message, and providing for display the two-dimensional graphical grid representation of the treatment of the document with respect to the at least one variable based on the transmitted message.

  • Publication number: 20160048518
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing for display hierarchical views of content organization nodes associated with captured content and for determining organizational identifiers for captured content are disclosed. A method includes providing a hierarchical taxonomy including a plurality of nodes. The method further includes receiving a plurality of captured content items. The method further includes associating a plurality of content organization nodes from the plurality of nodes with the plurality of captured content items. Each of the plurality of captured content items is associated with at least one of the plurality of content organization nodes. The method further includes providing for display a hierarchical view including the plurality of content organization nodes. The hierarchical view includes, for each of the plurality of content organization nodes, a graphical representation that the content organization node is associated with at least one of the plurality of captured content items.
