  • Patent number: 12175166
Abstract: A computing device receives a request requesting a screening design for an experiment. The device obtains factors for screening. A first factor has a first set of candidate inputs comprising at least two candidate inputs for allowable inputs in the experiment. A second factor has a second set of candidate inputs comprising at least three candidate inputs for allowable inputs in the experiment. The device receives an indication of a run size. The device generates the screening design by assigning, based on the run size, the first factor to a two-level group that only allows at most two allowable inputs for the first factor in the experiment. The device generates the screening design by assigning, based on the initial run size, the second factor to a three-level group that only allows at most three allowable inputs for the second factor in the experiment. The device outputs the screening design.

  • Publication number: 20240419869
Abstract: A computing device obtains first and second factors for a nesting design and first and second sets of candidate options for the first and second factors, respectively. The computing device also receives a nesting indication that the second factor is nested within the first factor. The computing device generates the nesting design by portioning the first and second sets of candidate options into respective first and second different sets of groups. Based on the nesting indication, the computing device generates an assignment of groups for a design, and also selects options in the nesting design for the first and second factors based on the assignment of groups. The computing device also generates terms for a computer model for a computer simulation of the nesting design, as well as one or more computer-generated assessments of the nesting design based on the computer simulation.

  • Patent number: 12164845
Abstract: A computing device receives a request requesting a screening design for an experiment. The device obtains, for the screening design, factors for screening in the experiment. A first factor is a categorical factor with a first set of candidate inputs comprising at least three candidate inputs in the experiment. A second factor is a continuous factor with a second set of candidate inputs comprising candidate input options within range(s) for the second factor. The device receives an indication of a run size that is a user-requested quantity of runs for the screening design. The device generates the screening design based on the run size. The device outputs the screening design. The screening design comprises runs of a quantity based on the user-requested quantity of runs for the screening design. The runs comprise the first set of candidate inputs and at least three inputs of the second set of candidate inputs.

  • Publication number: 20240394245
Abstract: A real-time data validation system prevents problematic updates from being replicated from a primary database to a replica database. The data validation system may inject a time delay into the replication process, so that when an update in a replication stream fails a specified data validation, the data validation system will prevent the update from being applied to the replica. The replication process may be halted to take snapshot of the replica database during the halt, and resumed after the snapshot. Accordingly, if the problematic update is later confirmed to be invalid, the replica database can be rolled back to a point before the problematic update. Advantageously, the disclosed system can be used to implement a variety of data validations on top of a database replication process to protect the replica database from receiving undesired updates.

  • Patent number: 12072942
Abstract: A centralized document system receives a request to merge a first document package associated with a first party and a second document package associated with a second party. The first document package includes a first set of documents and the second document package includes a second set of documents. In response to the request, the centralized document system identifies a first subset of documents included in both the first and second sets of documents and identifies a second subset of documents with conflicts between the first and second sets of documents. The centralized document system rectifies the second subset of documents to cure the conflicts between the first and second sets of documents. The centralized document system generates a merged document package including the first subset of documents and the rectified second subset of documents for execution by the first and second parties.

  • Patent number: 12069957
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a magnetic memory array provides back end of line annealing for associated processing circuitry without causing thermal damage to magnetic memory elements of the magnetic memory array. An array of magnetic memory element pillars is formed on a wafer, and the magnetic memory elements are surrounded by a dielectric isolation material. After the pillars have been formed and surrounded by the dielectric isolation material an annealing process is performed to both anneal the memory element pillars to form a desired grain structure in the memory element pillars and also to perform back end of line thermal processing for circuitry associated with the memory element array.

  • Publication number: 20240231298
Abstract: Disclosed techniques relate to managing power within a power distribution system. Power consumption corresponding to devices (e.g., servers) that receive power from an upstream device (e.g., a bus bar) may be monitored (e.g., by a service) to determine when power consumption corresponding to those devices has breached or will likely breach a budgeted threshold corresponding to an amount of power allocated to the upstream device. If the budgeted threshold is breached, or is likely to be breached, the service may initiate operations to distribute power caps for the devices and to initiate a timer. Although distributed, the power caps may be ignored by the devices until they are instructed to enforce the power caps (e.g., upon expiration of the timer). This allows the power consumption of the devices to exceed the budgeted power assigned to the upstream device at least until expiration of the timer while avoiding power outage events.

  • Patent number: 11995066
Abstract: At a logging service, a representation of a transaction requested by a client is received. The transaction includes at least a first write operation directed to a data object at a first data store. Based at least in part on the contents of the representation and contents of a persistent log of the logging service, a determination is made that the requested transaction is to be committed. A log record corresponding to the first write operation is inserted into the persistent log. The first write is propagated to the first data store after the record has been inserted in the persistent log.

  • Patent number: 11656912
Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling users of a cloud provider network to request the conditional termination of computing resources based on a forecasted availability of replacement capacity at a specified time or range of time in the future. A cloud provider network provides an application programming interface that can be used to make such requests, where the computing resources are hosted by the cloud provider network as part of a capacity pool shared by tenants of the cloud provider network. This type of request can be generated, for example, by a user desiring to terminate the use of some number of unproductive computing resources only if the user can be reasonably assured by the cloud provider network that capacity will be available at a future time when the user will likely need the capacity again.

  • Patent number: 11611616
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing service availability zones for computing-related services provided by a cloud provider network. According to some embodiments, the use of service availability zones enables users to achieve greater availability assurance for workloads sensitive to downtime or outages. The sensitivity of such workloads to downtime may be due to financial, regulatory, safety, or other reasons. Such availability-sensitive applications may in some cases be configured to run in multiple regions of a cloud provider network to increase their availability compared to running in a single availability zone. However, for some applications, the implementation of an application across multiple regions may not be feasible or desirable. The use of service availability zones provides user-visible fault domains within a single region of a cloud provider network, thereby enabling users to readily and reliably achieve application layer availability of approximately 99.
