  • Patent number: 8601665
Abstract: A method of making an absorbent article in the form of a refastenable pant may comprise multiple steps. First and second fastening components may be attached to a first web. A non-engagement zone and separation zones may be created on the first web. A backsheet, topsheet and absorbent core may be combined to form an absorbent containment assembly, wherein the absorbent core is disposed between the backsheet and topsheet. The absorbent containment assembly may be folded about a lateral centerline. The first and second webs may be joined and severed. A first side edge and a second side edge of at least one of the joined and severed first and second webs to the first web may be bonded such that the first and second side edges are disposed laterally inward of the first webs first and second separation zone of a discrete absorbent article.
