  • Patent number: 11162832
Abstract: A method for calibrating a flowmeter (5) is provided. A relationship between a flow calibration factor and a pressure coefficient for a class of flowmeter is determined. A unique flow calibration factor is then determined for a flowmeter (5). A unique pressure coefficient for the flowmeter (5) is determined, and the unique pressure coefficient is applied to the flowmeter (5).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 4, 2016
Date of Patent: November 2, 2021
    Assignee: Micro Motion, Inc.
Inventors: Andrew G. Kolbeck, Aart R. Pruysen, Dean M. Standiford, Jacob Andreas Sinte Maartensdijk

  • Patent number: 8229695
Abstract: Meter electronics for geometric thermal compensation in a flow meter is provided according to the invention. The meter electronics includes an interface configured to receive sensor signals and a temperature signal (T) of the flow meter. The meter electronics further includes a processing system coupled with the interface and configured to receive the sensor signals and the temperature signal (T) and compute a geometric thermal compensation factor (TFe) for one or more flow conduits of the flow meter using the temperature signal (T). The geometric thermal compensation factor (TFe) is used to process the first and second sensor signals.

Inventors: Aart R Pruysen, Jacob Andreas Sinte Maartensdijk, Robert Barclay Garnett
  • Publication number: 20090312977
Abstract: Meter electronics (20) for geometric thermal compensation in a flow meter (5) is provided according to the invention. The meter electronics (20) includes an interface (23) configured to receive sensor signals and a temperature signal (T) of the flow meter (5). The meter electronics (20) further includes a processing system (24) coupled with the interface (23) and configured to receive the sensor signals and the temperature signal (T) and compute a geometric thermal compensation factor (TFe) for one or more flow conduits (130, 130?) of the flow meter (5) using the temperature signal (T). The geometric thermal compensation factor (TFe) is used to process the first and second sensor signals.
