  • Patent number: 11960126
Abstract: A connector assembly that includes a connector that has a ferrule and a latch. The latch is movable about a connection point. The connector assembly also includes a boot that is removably mounted to the connector. The boot is axially slidable to move the latch. The connector assembly also includes a locking assembly to selectively lock the boot from sliding axially relative to the connector.

  • Publication number: 20230400646
Abstract: A sealing enclosure is configured to connect to a mating enclosure. The sealing enclosure loosely receives a connector within a connector volume so that the connector, which may be of a standard type used in electronic or optic data transmission, may be displaced within a plug face at the forward end of the connector volume. The connector may compensate variations in the position of a mating connector with respect to the mating enclosure. The sealing enclosure allows to seal off the connector volume and engage the sealing enclosure with a mating enclosure in a single motion. This is affected by having a cable seal interposed between an inner body and an outer body. If the outer body is moved forward to engage the mating connector, the cable seal is squeezed between the cable and the inner body sealing off the connector volume at the rearward end of the inner body.

  • Patent number: 10983284
Abstract: A fiber optic connector is disclosed that includes a plug body having a plug end and a connector core that mounts within the plug body. The connector core includes a ferrule subassembly including a ferrule, a ferrule hub that attaches to the ferrule, a spring holder and a connector spring. The ferrule sub-assembly is assembled with the connector spring pre-compressed to an initial compressed state prior to mounting the connector core within the connector body. The plug body and the core are configured such that the connector spring is moved from the initial compressed state to a final compressed state when the connector core is loaded in the plug body. In certain examples, tuning features can be integrated into the connector core.

  • Patent number: 10591679
Abstract: A multi-fiber connector (40) that promotes physical contact with a communicating multi-fiber connector. The multi-fiber connector (40) has a connector body (44) with a front end (47) and a back end (49). The multi-fiber connector (40) also includes a ferrule (10a, 10b) with optical contacts (20a, 20b) at a front end (14a, 14b). The ferrule (10a, 10b) is spring biased toward the front end (14a, 14b) of the connector body (44). The ferrule (10a, 10b) has a pair of alignment pin openings (30a, 30b) extending into the ferrule from a front end (14a, 14b). The ferrule (10b) also has a pair of alignment pins (22) mounted within the alignment pin openings (30a, 30b). The base ends of the alignment pins (22) have a different transverse cross-sectional shape than the alignment pin openings (30a, 30b). This difference in transverse cross-sectional shapes allows the alignment pins to pivot relative to the ferrule along a major axis of the ferrule.
