Abstract: A track and handle assembly for use with a flexible package is provided. The rigid box-like track has a top wall defining an elongated slot. The track may be recessed within an opening in the package wall. The handle assembly comprises a flexible handle and moveable guide members captured within the track and biased away from each other by the resiliently flexible handle. The handle assembly is moveable between a first position in which the handle is flat and a second position in which the handle is arc shaped.

Abstract: A laminate structure for use as a liner in food packaging. The laminate structure includes a paper substrate layer, a metalized oriented polypropylene (mOPP) layer, an extruded mineral oil barrier layer disposed between the paper substrate layer and the mOPP layer and an innermost polymer layer disposed opposite the mOPP layer from the extruded mineral oil barrier layer. The laminate structure is suitable for use as a liner inside an outer shell fabricated from pulp containing recycled materials as the liner includes a mineral oil barrier layer between the outer shell and the inside of the package.

The ramp is wedge shaped and comprises a folded bottom member affixed to a pre-formed top member having integrally formed guide rails. The bottom member has closure flaps that fold together in interlocking fashion inside the wedged shaped ramp to support and stabilize the load bearing top surface of the ramp.

The packaging system comprises an outer box, a tray holder folded into a U-shape and placed inside the box for holding the trays, and a locking device comprising locking panels wedged between the trays.

Abstract: A bumper pad for use in cushioning and protecting packaged articles is provided. The bumper pad is made primarily from paper and comprises an arced top member glued or otherwise affixed to a flat base along longitudinal edges. The bumper pad can be placed around the packaged article between the article and the outer packaging, which can be a cardboard sleeve, stretch wrap film or other packaging material. The arced top member preferably is formed using a linear draw process.
