Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and devices for managing mobile devices used while collecting samples and capturing auxiliary data in the field. A sampling system may provide at-a-glance information on sample statuses, help with scheduling, and track locations of mobile devices. Locations may be obtained from lower-level software than a mobile application running on the mobile devices, so as to help ensure compliance. A mobile device may provide a mobile application that provides sample status in real-time and helps with the capture of data even without a network connection that enables uploading to a server. Because locations may be detected via satellites without requiring a network connection, the locations of devices are more reliable.
