The program and method provide for receiving, by a messaging application associated with a user, user input corresponding to a request for a first content feed, the first content feed comprising a first plurality of media content items provided by one or more friends of the user; providing for display of the first content feed; determining, by the messaging application, that display of the first content feed is complete; and providing, in response to determining that display of the first content feed is complete, for display of a second content feed, the second content feed comprising a second plurality of media content items provided by one or more content providers to which the user subscribes with respect to the messaging application.

Abstract: Systems and methods herein save ephemeral media content to a conversation thread between two users who are bidirectional connections on a social media platform. The systems and methods receive, on a first device associated with a first user, media content item from a second device associated with a second user, display the received media content item on the first user device, and while causing display of the received media content item, receive a selection from the first user device. In response to receiving the selection, the systems and methods save the media content item to a conversation thread between the first user and the second user and display an indication that the media content item is saved within the conversation thread.

Abstract: A chatbot system for an interactive platform. The chatbot receives prompts in a form of interactive platform posts to the interactive platform, and generates responses in the form of the interactive platform posts. In an aspect, the chatbot system generates messages that are used on the interactive platform for group chats with multiple users and 1:1 chats with a single user. In another aspect, a user may customize a chatbot to create a personal chatbot having a persona. In some examples, prompts to the chatbot from the user are analyzed to filter out abusive language and/or harmful content.

Abstract: Some examples relate to a system and method for enhancing digital communication through a rule-based messaging and user interaction system. The system allows users to apply user-selected rules to messages, which dictate the conditions under which certain aspects of the message, such as images or text, are obscured or revealed. For example, a “reply to reveal” messaging mode may require a recipient to respond to the sender before a blurred image within the message becomes visible. The system includes a processor and memory that store the user-selected rules, apply the messaging mode to messages, and manage the transmission of such messages between user devices. This approach addresses the challenges of engaging users with varying degrees of digital literacy and encourages interactive communication by incentivizing responses through message content visibility conditions.

Abstract: A system and method for determining user intent and providing targeted advertising using chatbot interactions is disclosed. The system receives user prompts during chat sessions with a chatbot and generates responses using a large language model. User intent is extracted by analyzing the chat conversations using natural language processing and machine learning techniques. The extracted user intent, comprising weighted keywords and concepts, is used to create a user intent profile. Targeted advertising content is generated based on the user intent profile and provided to the user during subsequent platform interactions. The large language model is continuously retrained using user engagement data to improve intent modeling accuracy. User privacy is maintained by limiting context extraction to chatbot conversations. The system enables personalized and relevant advertising by inferring user intent through conversational interactions.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for presenting videos. The systems and methods access a video playback graphical user interface (GUI) that automatically plays back a plurality of videos in sequence. The systems and methods determine, by the one or more processors, a current mute state of the video playback GUI, a disabled mute state allowing output of audio associated with the playback of the plurality of videos, and an enabled mute state preventing the output of the audio associated with the playback of the plurality of videos. The systems and methods conditionally present an indicator that visually informs a user that audio is currently in the enabled mute state while an individual video of the plurality of videos is being played back based on the current mute state of the GUI.

Abstract: Systems and methods herein save ephemeral media content to a conversation thread between two users who are bidirectional connections on a social media platform. Abstract: A system to display a route of a user over a period of time is configured to perform operations that include: causing display of a map image that depicts a location; accessing user profile data associated with a user profile, the user profile data comprising a user identifier and location data associated with the user profile; identifying a sequence of locations associated with the user profile based on the user profile data; and causing display of a presentation of a trail indicating the sequence of locations associated with the user profile, the trail terminating at a display of the user identifier.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for joining community subgroups on a messaging platform. The methods and systems perform operations comprising: receiving, from a client device, account information associated with a user; searching, by a server, a list of communities to identify an individual community that corresponds to the account information; selecting a subgroup of a plurality of subgroups associated with the individual community in response to identifying the individual community; storing, by the server, the account information in association with the individual community; and adding the user to the subgroup to enable the client device of the user to access information of the selected subgroup that is exclusively available to members of the subgroup.
