  • Publication number: 20230127826
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to catheters including multiple braid layers. In an embodiment, a catheter is included having a catheter body, the catheter body can include a proximal end portion; a distal end portion; an inner liner; and a braided structure, the braided structure can include an inner braid layer, the inner braid layer can include a first set of inner wires; and a second set of inner wires; an outer braid layer, the outer braid layer can include a first set of outer wires; and a second set of outer wires; wherein the braided structure is disposed over the inner liner; wherein the first set of inner wires are larger than the second set of inner wires; and wherein the first set of outer wires are larger than the second set of outer wires. Other embodiments are also included herein.

  • Publication number: 20230063821
Abstract: An over-the-wire retrieval system having at least one expandable filter basket deployable and retrievable over a positioning guidewire that remains in place throughout the thrombectomy procedure. The filter catheter can slidably receive the positioning guidewire allowing the positioning guidewire to navigate a collapsed filter basket past a clot before the filter basket is expanded and pulled through the clot to engage or capture clot material. The filter basket can be re-collapsed and navigated past the clot over the positioning guidewire for multiple passes through the clot. The filter catheter can be paired with a flexible capture sleeve or an aspiration sheath for collection and removal of the clot material gathered by the filter basket on each pass. The flexible capture sleeve includes, in an example, a thrombus conveyor configured to transition between everted and inverted configurations.

  • Publication number: 20210213250
Abstract: In an example, a catheter assembly includes a catheter body extending from a catheter proximal portion to a catheter distal portion having a distal tip. a coil proximate to the catheter distal portion, the coil having a first section and a second section, wherein the first section has a first imaging characteristic. The second section is swaged, and the second section of the coil has a second imaging characteristic. The second imaging characteristic differs from the first imaging characteristic, and the different first and second imaging characteristics are configured to contrast and emphasize visibility of the distal tip relative to the remainder of the catheter body. In another example, a second braided layer of the catheter body is configured to constrain and brace a first braided layer.
