  • Patent number: 11790897
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of responding to a conversational event is presented. The method comprises receiving a conversational event at a conversational computing interface. Based on the received conversational event, an applicable generation rule of a plurality of candidate generation rules is selected. The applicable generation rule is configured with one or more parameters. A computer-executable plan is then selected based on the selected generation rule. The one or more parameters are passed from the selected generation rule to one or more additional generation rules. The one or more additional generation rules configured with the one or more parameters are recursively applied to extend the selected computer-executable plan. One or more candidate responses to the conversational event are output via the conversational computing interface based on the recursive application of the one or more additional generation rules configured with the one or more parameters.

  • Patent number: 11772824
Abstract: Systems and methods for obtaining images of a lunar surface and cislunar space using a hybrid telescope are provided. One hybrid telescope is carried by each of two spacecraft. Each spacecraft is in an elliptical orbit about the Moon. The periapsides of the spacecraft orbits are 180° apart from one another. In addition, the spacecraft can be phased 180° apart from one another to enable an offset in access times of each telescope to the cislunar and surface domains respectively. The image sensors associated with the telescopes can include a staring mode for collecting images from cislunar space, and a scanning mode for collecting images from the lunar surface.

  • Patent number: 11755836
Abstract: An improved speech-based/natural language point-of-sale customer order system which is useful for any business that interacts with customers through speech or sound. Despite the advances in speech recognition, currently available voice ordering interfaces have proven to be unintuitive and lack reliability. Voice recognition has so far proven to be inefficient in retail contexts, and therefore voice recognition has so far achieved a low level of usage penetration in the retail sector. The present invention facilitates the automated operation of the ordering function of a drive-through restaurant, fast food restaurant or other business establishment by replacing an employee or other means of capturing order data with an ordering system employing a highly accurate speech recognition component that is able to be trained to recognize a wide vocabulary of words, and associate tones and other metadata in a manner not previously achieved in speech-to-text systems.

  • Patent number: 11603116
Abstract: Techniques for determining a safety area for a vehicle are discussed herein. In some cases, a first safety area can be based on a vehicle travelling through an environment and a second safety area can be based on a steering control or a velocity of the vehicle. A width of the safety areas can be updated based on a position of a bounding box associated with the vehicle. The position can be based on the vehicle traversing along a trajectory. Sensor data can be filtered based on the sensor data falling within the safety area(s).

  • Publication number: 20230050419
Abstract: Embodiments of a heating appliance with control features such as knobs can provide tactile feedback to the user during knob operation. Tactile feedback through the knob, e.g., during rotation in one or more directions, can improve control precision. Beneficial control accuracy features, such as can be utilized during appliance operation and setting of parameters of the heating appliance. A user's desired setting, such as various cooking modes or an off position can therefore be input into the heating appliance with tactile control aspects. A user's desired setting can therefore be accurately set, including with the benefit of tactile control aspects.
