  • Publication number: 20200255530
Abstract: The invention relates to methods of treating stroke comprising administration of a VLA-4 antagonist to a subject after the onset of the stroke, e.g., ischemic stroke (e.g., acute ischemic stroke) or hemorrhagic stroke (e.g., intracerebral hemorrhage), sub-arachnoid hemorrhage, or traumatic brain injury. Kits and articles of manufacture are also described herein.

Inventors: Lahar R. MEHTA, Bharath Kumar KANDADI MURALIDHARAN, Jacob ELKINS, Ivan NESTOROV
  • Publication number: 20160152709
Abstract: The invention relates, inter alia, to methods of treating stroke, e.g., ischemic stroke, e.g., acute ischemic stroke, and methods of reducing infarct size and/or other neurological deficits associated with stroke, e.g., ischemic stroke, e.g., acute ischemic stroke, using a VLA-4 antagonist such as natalizumab. It was discovered that VLA-4 antagonists such as natalizumab can effectively reduce the infarct size and other associated neurological deficits of a stroke, e.g., an ischemic stroke; e.g., an acute ischemic stroke, e.g., when administered within a specified time period after the onset of the stroke. Also disclosed herein are articles of manufacture and kits for the treatment of stroke, e.g., ischemic stroke, e.g., acute ischemic stroke.

  • Patent number: 7261834
Abstract: Novel magnetorheological elastomer compositions are provided. The magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) may have aligned or randomly arranged magnetizable particles in a thermoset or thermoplastic matrix. The magnetizable particles may be coated to reduce corrosion and/or improve bonding between the particle and the matrix. The magnetizable particles may be flake-shaped. The MREs may have matrices selected from the group consisting of hydrogenated nitrile rubbers, butyl rubbers, ethylene-propylene copolymers and terpolymers, ethylene-acrylic copolymers, fluorinated elastomers, silphenylene-siloxanes, silarylene-siloxanes, poly(carborane-siloxane-acetylene)s and blends thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 20, 2004
Date of Patent: August 28, 2007
Assignee: The Board of Regents of The University and Community College System of Nevada on behalf of the University of Nevada, Reno
Inventors: Alan Fuchs, Faramarz Gordaninejad, Gregory H. Hitchcock, Jacob Elkins, Qi Zhang
