  • Publication number: 20250123028
Abstract: A saddle bracket assembly comprises a saddle bracket fastened to a saddle bracket support with a plurality of rivets. The saddle bracket web rests on a bracket support web with saddle bracket rivet holes coaxially aligned with an associated one of respective bracket support rivet holes and the coaxially aligned holes include one of a plurality of rivets to provide rivet joints that fasten the bracket support to the saddle bracket.

  • Publication number: 20240356483
Abstract: A mounting assembly comprises a fastener that includes a bolt and a nut. The bolt includes a threaded distal end and a polygonal headed proximate end that extends along a fastener axis. The assembly also includes a mounting base, and a first reinforcement channel nested around a first base of a hat-shaped channel. The hat-shaped channel is nested around a second base of a second reinforcement channel that nests around a load distributing channel. The mounting base, the first and second reinforcement channels, the hat-shaped channel and the load distributing channel are removable with respect to the fastener along the fastener axis. The bolt is received through coaxial apertures located within the mounting base, the first and second reinforcement channels, the hat-shaped channel and the load distributing channel, such that the polygonal headed proximate end rests within a channel of the load distributing channel.

  • Patent number: 8231743
Abstract: Improved compositions and processes for zincating magnesium and magnesium alloy substrates. An aqueous zincating composition having a pH of from about 8 to about 11 and including zinc ions, a complexing agent, fluoride ions and a reducing agent. A non-electrolytic process for zincating a magnesium or magnesium alloy substrate, including immersing the substrate in the non-electrolytic aqueous zincating composition for a time sufficient to deposit a zincate on the substrate. A non-electrolytic process for zincating a magnesium or magnesium alloy substrate, including preparing a aqueous non-electrolytic composition comprising zinc ions, a complexing agent, fluoride ions and a pH in the range from about 8 to about 11; adding to the composition an amount of a reducing agent sufficient to improve deposition of zincate on the magnesium or magnesium alloy substrate; and immersing the substrate in a composition for a time sufficient to deposit the zincate on the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20110206844
Abstract: A process for passivating a vapor-deposited aluminum layer on a substrate, including providing a substrate comprising vapor deposited aluminum on a surface thereof; treating the surface of the substrate with an aqueous substantially chromium-free composition comprising a hexafluorozirconate; and rinsing the treated surface with water. A process for passivating a vapor-deposited aluminum layer on a substrate, including vapor depositing a layer of aluminum on a substrate; treating the substrate with the vapor deposited aluminum with an aqueous substantially chromium-free composition comprising a hexafluorozirconate; and rinsing the treated substrate with water.
