  • Publication number: 20240271894
Abstract: A hydraulic recoil device for a handgun or pistol is provided. The device includes a cylinder defining an interior hollow compartment having a first end and a second end. The device further includes a first resilient member; a piston assembly arranged adjacent to the first resilient member and at least partially within the cylinder, where the piston assembly includes a piston head, a piston rod, and a piston cap; an accumulator arranged within the cylinder; and a second resilient member outside of the cylinder. The piston assembly is configured to remove an initial jolt in a firing cycle with a hydraulic resistance and the second resilient member is configured to provide recoil reduction after the initial jolt in the firing cycle. A method of reducing recoil in a handgun or pistol is also provided.

The device further includes a first resilient member; a piston assembly arranged adjacent to the first resilient member and at least partially within the cylinder, where the piston assembly includes a piston head, a piston rod, and a piston cap; a compressible accumulator arranged within the cylinder; and a second resilient member outside of the cylinder. When the piston rod is displaced toward the first end of the cylinder in operation, a hydraulic resistance is generated by the piston assembly, and when a first end of the second resilient member is displaced toward the second end of the cylinder in operation, additional resistance is generated by the second resilient member.

  • Publication number: 20230204311
Abstract: A recoil reduction device for a firearm is provided. The device includes a main body having a proximal end, a distal end, a first interior hollow compartment, and a second interior hollow compartment; a first recoil reduction assembly arranged at least partially within the first interior hollow compartment at the proximal end of the main body; and a second recoil reduction assembly arranged at least partially within the second interior hollow compartment at the distal end of the main body. The first recoil reduction assembly provides recoil reduction during a first stage of a firing cycle of the firearm, and the second recoil reduction assembly provides recoil reduction during a second stage of the firing cycle of the firearm, wherein the second stage is different than the first stage. The recoil reduction mechanisms provided by the first and second recoil reduction assemblies are different from each other.
