  • Patent number: 6231217
Abstract: A lighting system for a watercraft which provides a visual indication of the watercraft at a distance during darkness or other inclement conditions. The lighting system comprises a light source or a plurality of light sources which are directed to directly illuminate the hull of the watercraft such that a distinct portion or portions of the hull is directly illuminated and visually identifiable at a distance. Preferably, the port side of the hull is directly illuminated by a red light, the starboard side of the hull is illuminated green and the stern portion of the hull is illuminated yellow so that one observing the watercraft can determine the correct orientation of the watercraft relative to the observer's position. The light source which directly illuminates the hull of the watercraft is also designed to intermittently flash or strobe based upon the movement of the watercraft, or lack thereof.

  • Patent number: 5410934
Abstract: The guide head is used in pairs secured above and below the work table of a band saw machine, to twist the blade up to 90.degree. enabling the machine to cut off a length of a work piece exceeding the throat dimension of the machine. Each guide head comprises a casing having a plug swivelable up to 90.degree. within it. Each swivelable plug has a vertical opening through which a saw blade can be trained. Each plug has upper and lower pairs of side guide rollers rotatably journaled on spaced, parallel, removeable pintles. Each roller has large- and small-diameter cylindrical end portions. The large-diameter portions are spaced apart to engage opposite sides of a band saw blade trained through the swivelable plug.

  • Patent number: 4112599
Abstract: A method of cushioning and ventilating a foot surface by providing footwear made from a cushioning and ventilating member which constitutes a new use for a known material sometimes called bubble wrap commonly used in shipping rooms for packaging. This material is of laminated construction, consisting of two very thin sheets of non-rubberlike, non-elastic plastics material such as polyethylene heat-sealed together, one of the sheets being formed with a plurality of separate and independent, spaced-apart pockets providing a plurality of independent, closed, individually sealed air cells at atmospheric pressure. Two embodiments of footwear for practicing the invention are disclosed, one being a complete slipper, the other being a separable insole or bottom liner for an existing slipper or shoe.
