  • Patent number: 11692528
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for operating a wind turbine wherein the method includes: operating the wind turbine over an operating period in accordance with a control strategy, providing one or more input values representing a load acting on at least one component of the wind turbine and providing uncertainties of the input values, determining, based on the input values, an aggregated load value representing an aggregated load acting on the at least one component of the wind turbine over an aggregation period, determining, based on the uncertainties of the input values, an uncertainty of the aggregated load value, determining a statistical load aggregate from the aggregated load value and the uncertainty of the aggregated load value, adjusting the control strategy based on the statistical load aggregate. The disclosure further relates to a wind turbine and a wind farm configured to perform the above method.

  • Publication number: 20230184214
Abstract: A method is for controlling a wind turbine. The wind turbine has a tower, a nacelle, a rotor with at least two rotor blades and a yaw system with at least one yaw drive configured to rotate the nacelle about a vertical axis of the tower (yaw axis). A control signal for the at least one yaw drive depends on at least one signal indicative of the wind direction. The control signal for the at least one yaw drive further depends on at least one value indicative of a vibration mode of the rotor blades.

  • Patent number: 8376710
Abstract: The disclosure relates to adjacently mounted circumferentially distributed turbo machine airfoils with a vibration damping system. Each adjacent pair of airfoils includes a fixing and receiving portion, extending between the paired adjacent airfoils, each with a face that are proximal (e.g., in contact with) each other. Vibration can be suppressed by the fixing and receiving portions each having a received magnet fixingly installed therein and a non-magnetic conducting plate therebetween. Each magnet has a pole that faces the pole of the other magnet in between which the non-magnetic conducting plate is located and in which eddy currents can be induced by the relative movement of the magnets due to vibration.
